Biodata

The first impression I always give someone is that I am a serious person. However, my close friends all know me to be jovial and fun loving. Since young, I have always being inculcated the value of treating others the way I expect to be treated. Hence, I believe in being sincere and polite towards others.

Nil Sine Labore. Nothing comes without hard work; therefore I always demonstrate perseverance and determination in anything I do. Having been involved in two Youth Expedition Projects made me realise that life will be more meaningful if everyone lends a helping hand to those in need.

WOW! You sound like a very caring person, involved in community work. It is great that you offer a helping hand to all those in need. I am not so involved in such projects, I just make constant donations. haha. :P

At the beginning of this course, I also thought that you are a very serious and stern person. After some time, I realize that you are actually a humorous person. :)

Hi Ho Teck,

When interacting with you in class, I can never imagine you being involved in YEPs! Surely my view of you will undergo some (minor) changes after reading your post!

John Fitzgerald Kennedy said that we all can make a difference and each of us should try. I am sure your kind acts have definitely made a difference to the less privileged citizens and touched their hearts. Or as Abraham Lincoln said: “To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.”

It is time for me to reflect on what I can do to help the society, no matter how insignificant I may think my efforts are. It’s time to start giving and contributing!

Hi Ho Teck!

I must agree with Jimmy that I was surprised to find out that you were involved in two YEPs! It's good though, to put yourself out of your comfort zone to help improve the lives of others. It's easy for people to get absorbed in their lives and forget that there are others out there who are far less fortunate than us.

Enjoy the weekend, and see you in class!

Hello Mei Ling,

I agree with you that sometimes people get too absorbed in their personal matters and forget that the world does not revolve around us. There are still many people out there who are more unfortunate than us, hence I always believe in lending a helping hand. President Elect Obama talks about change, and I think change can only come about starting from ourselves. Together, we can make a difference.
